“GOC Kilo Force Reviews the Rescue and Resuscitation Operation”

GOC Kilo Force, Maj Gen SS Slaria visited the calamity site and took a first hand account of progress of rescue and resuscitation operations. Operations are progressing on war footage to assist civil administration to restore Yatra back in a record time frame. On special request of the Shrine board, sappers and troops of Indian Army created a shunt in the yatra track against the flow of nalas. Scanning and excavation of suspected sites consisting of rocks and debris as also glaciated patches in the Amarnath Nala is being coordinated with state of the art Radar and experts from Indian Army. The rescue operation including medical treatment to effected and evacuation of critical injured persons, on ground support by troops deployed on ground and aerial insertion of logistics and engineering equipment from the occurrence of the cloud burst has enabled timely evacuation and prevented any loss of life to injured persons. GOC also interacted with Baltal camp administrators and Civil engineers at Nilagrar. A review of efforts undertaken as also coordination of ongoing rescue operations was done to ensure seamless coordination with civil administration. Army further plans to maintain strict vigil in surrounding areas to keep terror mongers at bay as also be prepared to meet any such eventuality in near future.
