GANDERBAL RASHTRIYA RIFLE in collaboration with *VOICE FOR PEACE & JUSTICE organized an Open Cycle Race for Boys* with an aim to motivate the youth to incorporate a healthy lifestyle and sports into their daily life. A total of *180* enthusiastic and energetic local boys from *Ganderbal*, *Lar* and *Manigam* participated in this event. It was witnessed by more than *150* locals. This event provided the perfect opportunity for the youth to showcase their cycling skills.
Participants came with full enthusiasm and spirit which could be seen on their faces. The race was flagged off from *PS Lar* and concluded in *Football Ground Manigam*.The locals rendered a helping hand in controlling the busy traffic and encouraged the young participants with their cheering. All precautions regarding safety of participating kids, including medical emergencies and road safety were meticulously planned by Army.
The participants who finished in the *Top 10* spots were felicitated with cash prizes each as a token of their hard work and displaying true sportsman spirit. Certificates were also awarded to all participants. The event ended with light refreshments to re-energize the participants after the tiresome race and were further counselled on the importance of sports in our daily life to maintain a healthy life.
