JKWDC hosts awareness workshop on women centric schemes

SAMBA, APRIL 15: To sensitize the women beneficiaries about the benefits of the schemes being implemented by Jammu and Kashmir Women’s Development Corporation (JKWDC), a mega awareness camp cum Loan Mela was organized, here today at Village Palli District Samba.

 The camp was sponsored by National  Minorities Development & Finance Corporation (NMDFC) Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India. Around 400 women beneficiaries participated in the camp amongst whom loan application forms as well as pamphlets were distributed.

The camp was inaugurated by  Ranvir Sharma, Sarpanch, Panchayat Palli as the Chief Guest.

 Rifat Kamar, District Manager, Women’s Development Corporation, Samba highlighted various activities and achievements of Women’s Development Corporation. She said the activities of the Corporation have immensely contributed towards the empowerment of the women. She requested the gathering to come forward and avail the benefits of the schemes of WDC for their self-reliance.  In addition to the schemes, the  issues related to the rights of women, health, nutrition, Female feticide, Beti Bachao Beti Padeao domestic violation and Swachh Bharat Abiyan and skill development etc. were also discussed

Ranvir  Sharma, Sarpanch Palli Samba  appreciated the role of WDC in making the women socially and economically empowered and requested the participant women beneficiaries to come forward and avail the benefits of the schemes of the WDC for their economic empowerment.

The camp was attended by Representatives from J&K SC/ST & OBC Dev. Corp, BPM Simmi and representatives from the Handicraft department.

 Lastly, a vote of thanks was presented by Mrs. Nasreen Gul , District Manager.
