Police detains a notorious drug peddler under PIT NDPS Act in Handwara

April 11: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, a notorious drug peddler was detained under PIT NDPS Act in Handwara.

Earlier one habitual offender and notorious drug peddler namely Gh Nabi Dar @Nab Dar son of Munawar Dar resident of Pazipora Vilgam was arrested for involvement in narcotic crimes. He has been detained under PIT NDPS Act through orders issued by competent authority. The said drug peddler has been detained under the provisions of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act for his repeatedly involvement in selling and distributing drugs viz Heroine, Charas etc among the populace of Vilgam, Pazipora, Dingre, Dedikot Tarathpora and Kralpora areas and for his involvement in other crimes also.

Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
