RAMBAN, MARCH, 22: Jal Shakti department Ramban today celebrated World Water Day in Jal Shakri Kendra, district administrative complex, here today.

The world water day is celebrated every year on March 22 to highlight the importance of water conservation and preservation.

Under the title ‘Groundwater–Making the invisible visible’, this year’s campaign will explain groundwater’s vital role in water and sanitation systems, agriculture, industry, ecosystems and climate change adaptation.

While interacting with the participants, the Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti Sunil Gupta  urged   all stakeholders to   make the ‘Catch the Rain’ mission successful by restoring rain water harvesting besides conserving  other water resources for our next generations.

He said it is the responsibility of each individual to save every drop of water not only for himself but also for his society.

He also informed that during the awareness drive the department organized various informative programmes to spread awareness about the Jal Jeevan Mission.

AEEs of Jal Shakti, Ramban, Banihal, AEE, I & FC, Gool, Ramban and Banihal besides officials of department and other citizens present on the occasion.
