BHADARWAH, MARCH 22: Chairman District Development Council Doda, Dhananter Singh Kotwal, today chaired a meeting of the officers of Bhadarwah administration, here at Dak Bungalow to discuss the modalities for tourism development and other allied sectors in the area.
He sought feedback with regard to the issues related to the development of tourism and steps being taken to improve road connectivity to the tourist destinations ahead of the onset of tourist season.
Threadbare discussion was also held with regard to the issues of public importance including the completion of ongoing works, start of works not taken up, besides the chairman also sought the action taken report by the departments with regard to the previous meetings.
He stressed on the importance of better road connectivity to various tourist destinations, including Bhadarwah-Padri, Bhadarwah-Jai, Bhadarwah-Sarthal roads and black topping of Bhaderwah-Doda road by GREF. The development of the park at Seri Bazar and its completion and handing over to the concerned department was also discussed at length.
He directed the concerned to remove illegal parking of vehicles and encroachments etc from the main market including shifting of l Rehriwallas which cause hindrance in the smooth movement of vehicles during summer when the tourists flow increases.
The sanitation of the town area was also discussed. The Jal Shakti department was directed to provide filtered water to the public as complaints about contaminated water supply are continuously pouring in. Officers of JKPDCL were directed to rationalize the curtailment schedule and avoid unscheduled power cuts. The department of Agriculture was asked to stock sufficient quantities of quality seeds and fertilizers for the farmers as farming season has begun in Bhadarwah. The officers of PWD were directed to remove the encroachments reported anywhere in their jurisdiction and to complete the snow and landslides clearance work on roads of tourism importance including Padri road and Jjai road as the flow of tourists is expected this season after decline and control in the spread of covid cases.
The Chairman DDC asked the departments to maintain better coordination with the Council and ensure prompt response to public issues projected by the PRI members.
Chairman DDC asked all departments to ensure time bound disposal of each issue raised and discussed in the meeting. He further asked them to complete all ongoing works by the end of the current financial year to avoid lapse of the funds allotted against the plan/works.
The meeting was attended by BDC Chairperson Omi Chand, DDC member Yudhvir Singh, ADC Bhaderwah Dilmir Chowdhary, CEO BDA, ASP Bhadarwah, OC 114 RCC GREF, AE 114 RCC Bhalra, Tehsildar Bhaderwah, BMO Bhaderwah, DFO Bhaderwah, ExEn R&B and other sectoral officers were also present in the meeting.
