ARMY ORGANISED MEDICAL CAMP FOR THE PEOPLE OF KUPWARA

Kupwara, 14 Feb 22​. Army today organised a Medical Camp for the remote areas of Haphruda, Malikpura, Wooder, Hagnikut and Taratpura villages of Kupwara district in North Kashmir. The Army’s initiatives in rural Kashmir have historically been ones that evoked a sense of healing touch for the local populace. These initiatives have been the very edifice on which Army and Awam have bonded with each other and co-existed in valley over the past three decades.

The Medical Camp was organised at Panchayat Office, Taratpora and came as a source of succour to locals in the area. As a result the event witnessed a heavy footfall to the tune of 362 patients including women, children and elders. The Medical Faculty consisted of Three Medical Officers and One Dental officer from the Army and Medical Specialist Dr. Aijaz Ahmed Bhat (Dy. Medical Suptt, DH Handwara), Gynaecologist (Dr. Javid Munawer), Ophtho Tech (Mr. Waseem Majid), Paediatrician (Dr. Waseem) from Civil Administration.

It is worth mentioning that the Army makes special efforts to reach out to areas in rural Kashmir deprived of adequate health infrastructure. Army sources confirmed that more such Medical Camps would be organised in coming months in remote areas during winters.
