1. To celebrate the 75th Independence Day 34 Assam Rifles under the banner of 3 Sector Rashtriya Rifles organised a sector level game for the awaam. The competition which has been named in honour of the only Mahavir Chakra awardee of the Area, Mohammed Ismail, who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation in the 1948, Indo-Pak War. The first of the knock out, league matches was played between KANGAN TEAM A and CHATTERGUL TEAM A.
Both teams displayed exemplary sportsmanship and energy and gave their best. But the CHATTARGUL A TEAM won the knockout by a very narrow margin at 25-21 and 27-26 respectively.
The second knockout match of the day was played by Wusan Stars and Gutlibagh Spikers. The Gutlibagh team playing with superb skill and technique made the home team look like a bunch of amateurs and easily won 25-10 and 25-16. Their team spirit and team work being of the highest coordination.
