As part of the Jashn-e-Azadi celebrations in Gurez, a Quiz competion was conducted today at Army Goodwill School, Dawar to instill patriotism and inculcate competitive spirit in the young minds of the Gurez Valley. The theme of the competition was India’s freedom movement and 75 yrs of India’s Independence.
A total of 48 students from 12 schools across the valley participated in the highly charged event.
Four teams qualified for the finals after the prelim round. Final round was conducted between the students of AGS Dawar, High School Wampora, Middle School Shahpora and Middle School Markoot. AGS Dawar emerged victorious with 115 pts and Middle School Shahpora was judged Runner up with 75 pts.
The event culminated with a passionate speech on national integration by Principal AGS and a Health and Hygiene lec by Army Lady Doctor.
Highly charged atmosphere and happy faces of the children was testimony to the success of the event.
