Director Horticulture reviews implementation of the schemes

SRINAGAR, APRIL 17: The Director Horticulture Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat today convened a meeting here to take review of the schemes under the implementation of the department.

The meeting also discussed the action plan of MIDH-2021.

At the outset, the Director impressed upon all Chief Horticulture officers of the division that they should make expenditure under all the schemes in a time bound manner.

He said the Department needs to cater to maximum number of farmers for strengthening their requirement of farm mechanization, irrigation infrastructure, post harvest handling and capacity building for doubling the farmers income.

Further, he instructed all the officers to remain vigilant in the field to ensure control of spurious and substandard pesticides and conduct regular sampling for its analysis in the designated laboratories.

The Director said that the Department will make its efforts for regulation of the insecticide Act in its letter and spirit for the safeguard of fruit orchards in the valley and as such all the stakeholders shall have to cooperate in this regard.

The meeting among others was attended by all the Chief Horticulture officers, District Horticulture officers and Horticulture Development officers of Kashmir Division.
