Stresses for provision of drinking water in all Schools, AWCs and Health centres

ANANTNAG, APRIL 06: In a meeting with concerned officers of Jal Shakti and R&B departments, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla today directed for completion of all Jal Jeevan Mission projects and schemes in a time bound manner.

He stressed for provision of drinking water at all schools, AWCs, Health cenres and Panchayat Buildings  besides taking PRI members on board for smooth execution of plans.

Dr. Singla also passed directions to the concerned to categorically flag issues which impede the progress on the schemes and assured full support in sorting out the same.

Earlier, Exen PHE informed the meeting about the functioning and achievements of the sector in the district.

It was given out that more than 90% AWCs and Schools besides cent percent Health centres operating from Government buildings have been connected with potable supply of water.

Further, allotment for 10 schemes stands completed while 28 more have been approved.

Additionally, more than 19000 households were provided potable water connections in the last.

The CPO, SE Hydraulic along with Executive Engineer and AEEs, Executive Engineer R&B alongwith AEEs, AD Planning and other concerned officers also attended the meeting.
