Tangdar, Jan 8 : The Kupwara-Tanghdar road which was shut for vehicular traffic is likely to be made commutable by Friday evening as Beacon personnel from 109 RCC are on job to clear the only road connectivity of the area with district headquarters, beacon officials said.

Nitin  Joshi , a Beacon official in the knowhow of the things told KNS that, they had been waiting for directions to start the clearance operations after learning of an avalanche warning along the snow-bound area given by the concerned department adding that “However soon after receiving a nod from district administration, we pressed the men on job.”

Besides Kupwara-Tanghdar the Beacon personnel, as per the official, have also started clearance operations along Kralpora-Keran road.

“If weather allowed we expect to make the roads, which lie shut for vehicular traffic for five days now, commutable by Friday evening”, the official added.

Pertinent to mention here that the recent snowfall had sent life out of gear in many parts of Valley even as heavily restricting the movement of vehicles on clogged roads.
However reports pouring in from other districts have been suggesting that most of the roads have been made through for public and vehicle movement.
