Handwara, March 06: District Red Cross Society(DRCS) District Kupwara in collaboration with GMC Handwara, Handwara Police, 21 RR Handwara, NSS Unit of Govt.Degree College Handwara today organised a Blood Donation Camp and Drug De-addiction awareness Programme at Indoor Stadium of Degree College Handwara.

Honorary Treasurer, IRCS , Gh. Ahmad Qureshi, Principal Degree College,Handwara, Mohammad Shafi Lone, Medical Superintendent GMC Handwara, Dr.Nisar Ahmad Wani, Dr.Rehana, Psychiatrist, GMC, Nazir Qureshi Ibn Shahbaz, Senior Lecturer and other dignitaries attended the camp and encouraged voluntary donors to participate in such events.

Many volunteers including Students and soldiers of 21 RR participated in the camp and donated blood.

On the ocasion it was informed that around 63 units of the blood were collected during the camp.
Honorary Treasurer thanked all the donors and other participants for their overwhelming participation.
He appreciated the young volunteers who gave blood to save precious lives of people in need.
Dr. Rehan Psychiatrist GMC Handwara elaborated in detail about harful effects of drug addiction and substance abuse.
