PSPS Govt PG College for Women Celebrates World Water Day 2022

JAMMU, MARCH 22: The students of Geography Department of PSPS Government P.G. College for Women Gandhi Nagar celebrated WORLD WATER DAY 2022, under the banner of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, here today.

A symposium was organized under the patronage of Prof./Dr.Sangita Nagari,Principal of the college. The theme of the symposium was Groundwater: Making the Invisible Visible.

The programme started with the formal welcome by Prof. Kamlesh Salathia, HOD.

In all 12 students expressed their views about the significance of water in general and groundwater in particular. They discussed various issues like distribution of water on earth, access to safe drinking water, water quality, conservation of water, groundwater harnessing etc. The quality as well as quantity of this precious resource on which all forms of life depends is needed to be improved.

Present on the occasion were Dr.Sujata Slathia, Prof.Mamta Gupta, Dr.Nisha Bhagat ,Dr.Ashma Gupta ,Dr.Sandeep Kour and Dr. Basharat. Programme ended with a vote of thanks by Prof.Geetika Goswami,  Assistant Prof  department of Geography.
