Srinagar, Sept 3 (JKNS): The three-day divisional-level selection trials for the J&K Sub-Junior Boys Football Team concluded across Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.
In Jammu, trials were conducted at the Mini Stadium Synthetic Turf, Parade Ground, Jammu.
A total of 60 young footballers participated on day 3. The trials focused on assessing the players’ overall performance, including technical skills, tactical understanding, physical fitness, game awareness, discipline and performance under match conditions.
A total of 22 players have been shortlisted from Jammu Division for the next stage of the selection process.
The selection committee closely evaluated the participating players throughout the matches and practical assessments.
Based on their performances over the three-day selection process, players showing the required potential and performance were shortlisted for the next stage of selection.
The trials were conducted under the supervision of District Sports Officer Jammu, B.
A. Bakshi with Ricky Kumar, Nikita Thapa, Rameez and Dr. Rahul Razdan in selection committee.
Meanwhile, 95 players participated on day 3 of Sub-Junior Boys Selection Trials in Kashmir Division.
Following the completion of the three-day trials, a total of 52 players have been shortlisted from Kashmir Division for the next stage of the selection process. The selected players will now participate in the UT-Level Selection Trials, scheduled to commence from 7 September 2026 at TRC Ground, Srinagar.
The UT-level trials will provide an opportunity for the shortlisted players to compete for selection to the final J&K Sub-Junior Boys team.
The three-day trials witnessed enthusiastic participation from young footballers aspiring to represent Jammu & Kashmir at the national level. The selection process was conducted in a fair and systematic manner, providing the players an opportunity to demonstrate their abilities. (JKNS)
