Srinagar, Sept 4 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir is likely to witness spells of light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places on Friday, with brief intense showers expected at some locations, particularly in the Jammu division, the Meteorological Department said.
Director Meteorological Department Srinagar, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, as per news agency JKNS said that on September 4, a spell of light to moderate rain or thundershowers is expected at many places during the afternoon, followed by another moderate spell with brief intense heavy showers during late night or early morning hours, mainly in the Jammu division.
From September 5 to 10, the weather is expected to remain generally dry, with brief spells of rain or thundershowers possible at isolated places.
The MeT has forecast brief spells of rain and thundershowers at scattered places from September 11 to 15, with the possibility of brief intense showers at some locations.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has advised caution, stating that brief intense showers over localized areas on September 4 may trigger flash floods, mudslides and landslides.
Farmers, however, have been advised that they may continue harvesting and other agricultural operations while keeping local weather conditions in view. (JKNS)
