According to the notice, issued on the communication of the Executive Engineer, PMGSY Kupwara, extensive earthwork and rock cutting are currently underway.

The work involves blasting and excavation, creating a high risk of shooting rocks and flying stones, which may endanger the lives of commuters and travellers using the route.

In view of the potential danger, the administration has imposed temporary restrictions on daytime movement along the affected road. Only vehicles carrying medical emergencies or those travelling under exceptional and unavoidable circumstances will be allowed to pass, subject to safety considerations.

The SDM has appealed to the general public to cooperate with the administration and the executing agency by adhering to the advisory.

The restrictions have been imposed solely to ensure public safety, prevent accidents, and facilitate the smooth execution of the road construction project. (JKNS)
