The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association, including its Medical, Paramedical, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Physiotherapy Wings, expressed deep shock, grief, and outrage over the tragic blast near the Red Fort in New Delhi, which claimed eight innocent lives and left several others seriously injured.

Association described the blast as a barbaric, cowardly, and senseless act of terror that has taken precious lives and shaken the conscience of the entire nation. The Association noted that such acts serve no purpose except to sow fear, hatred, instability, and distrust in society.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families who have lost their loved ones in this horrific incident. No words can ease their suffering, but our prayers and solidarity remain with them during this unimaginably difficult time,” the statement read.

The Association prayed for the speedy recovery of all those injured and urged authorities to provide all possible medical, psychological, and financial support to the affected families.

The Association appealed for calm, unity, and collective resilience, stressing that no act of terror can weaken India’s democratic spirit or its social fabric. “Attempts to disturb communal harmony or trigger hatred must be rejected by every responsible citizen,” the statement added.

The Association also called for a transparent, thorough, and time-bound investigation into the incident, urging law-enforcement agencies to identify and bring the perpetrators to justice at the earliest. It reaffirmed its belief that due process and professional investigation are essential for justice and national security.

Reiterating its long-standing position, the Association said: “Kashmiri students believe in India’s democracy, constitutional values, and mainstream ethos. We strongly reject terrorism, separatism, secessionism, radicalisation, or any ideology that seeks to weaken, divide, or destabilise the nation. We have never condoned violence nor endorsed any secessionist tendencies. Our commitment to peace, unity, national integrity, and coexistence is unwavering.”

“Families from Jammu & Kashmir have made immense sacrifices for the nation. Our people have stood guard on the borders, defended the country with courage, and given their blood for India’s sovereignty. Generations of Kashmiris have upheld dignity, resilience, and loyalty to India’s unity and progress.”

The Association said it would fully cooperate with authorities in any manner required to ensure the perpetrators are apprehended. “Anyone involved in such a heinous act directly or indirectly is neither a friend of Kashmir nor a representative of any religious community. Terror has no religion, no region, and no identity.”

Responding to reports of profiling and harassment of Kashmiri students in different institutions following the blast, the Association expressed strong concern: “Every Kashmiri is an Indian, unconditionally. We strongly oppose the harassment, intimidation, hate, bigotry, and profiling that some Kashmiri students have faced. Kashmiri students across India contribute to the nation through universities, hospitals, laboratories, technology centres, public institutions, start-ups, and countless professional fields, and will continue to do so.”

The Association condemned any attempt to justify violence in the name of religion. “When suicide is haram in Islam, suicide bombing is equally and unequivocally haram. It involves taking one’s own life and killing innocent people both strictly prohibited in Islam. Suicide bombing violates the sanctity of life, spreads fear, and creates chaos on earth, all of which are explicitly forbidden.”

The Qur’an states that killing even one innocent person is like killing all of humanity. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) prohibited harming non-combatants, women, children, the elderly, and civilians under all circumstances. “Any justification offered by Mr. Umar or anyone else is deeply misguided, dangerous, and contrary to Islamic teachings. Such narratives distort religion, fuel extremism, and mislead young minds. We condemn such interpretations unequivocally.”

The Medical, Nursing, Paramedical, Pharmacy, and Physiotherapy Wings of the Association expressed concern over suggestions that individuals from health-related professions may be connected to the incident. “It is deeply disturbing. If anyone is found guilty, strict legal action must follow. But no professional community should be maligned without evidence. Acts of terror cannot break the resolve of those who commit themselves to healing, protecting, and serving society.”

The Association emphasised: “We have full faith in the justice system. Law-enforcement agencies must be allowed to investigate independently and thoroughly. The guilty must be punished, and the innocent must be protected.”

“Such acts of violence cannot and will not shake our collective resolve to heal, protect, serve, and build a peaceful nation.”

At this sensitive hour, the Jammu & Kashmir Students Association stands firmly with the nation. “We pray for peace, justice, and healing. We stand with every family affected by this tragedy. Our hearts, our solidarity, and our commitment to unity remain unwavering.” (JKNS)
