LONDON — The leaders of France, Germany, and Britain on Friday issued a joint statement welcoming the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and the subsequent release of hostages. The European powers stressed the crucial need to resume the flow of humanitarian aid to civilians in the region without delay.
Support for Ceasefire and Calls for Full Compliance
The joint statement expressed the three nations’ commitment to the stability achieved by the new agreement. The leaders highlighted the paramount importance of all parties fully complying with their commitments as outlined in the Gaza deal.
They stressed that the provisions of the agreement must be implemented without any delay to ensure the continuity of the ceasefire and to achieve lasting stability.
The statement specifically praised the diplomatic efforts that led to the breakthrough agreement. The European leaders commended the leadership of U.S. President Donald Trump and the pivotal work done by the mediating countries: Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey.
