Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) is all set to host a 10-day Summer Internship Program from June 4, 2025, here at its Bari Brahmana campus.
This initiative marks a significant step towards fostering experiential learning and strengthening industry-academia linkages in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Sixty undergraduate students pursuing a Bachelor’s in Business Administration (BBA) from Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu, will participate in the first batch of this internship program. As mandated by NEP 2020, all undergraduate students must complete a 60-hour internship to complement their academic curriculum with practical exposure.
The program aims to provide participants with an enriching experience in the domains of entrepreneurship, innovation and enterprise creation. Students will engage in interactive sessions with seasoned professionals, participate in business simulations and explore real-world entrepreneurial challenges and solutions.
This initiative highlights JKEDI’s commitment to nurturing a culture of entrepreneurship among the youth of the Union Territory. Interns will also gain insight into the Institute’s activities and programs, including Entrepreneurship Awareness Programs (EAPs), Orientation Programs (EOPs) and Entrepreneurship Development Programs (EDPs), Detailed Project Report Formulations etc, all geared toward promoting entrepreneurship as a viable career choice.
By bridging classroom learning with real-world applications, the internship will help students develop critical thinking, problem-solving abilities and the entrepreneurial mindset needed to thrive in Monday’s competitive environment.
This program is part of JKEDI’s larger vision to empower young minds and contribute meaningfully to the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Jammu and Kashmir and beyond.
