Kishtwar: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajesh Kumar Shavan Monday chaired a meeting to review and finalize the necessary arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha.
The meeting held threadbare discussion on the arrangements to be put in place like security, transport, sanitation, uninterrupted water and power supply, availability of essential commodities, health and other related facilities.
The DC asked to constitute joint teams of Revenue, Municipal Council, FCS&CA, Food Safety, Police and Legal Metrology to ensure adequate availability of quality mutton, chicken, vegetables, fruits, bakery and confectionery etc.
To ensure hassle-free movement of people, the Transport Department was instructed to provide sufficient transport services on all routes during the festival days.
The Municipal authorities were directed to take measures for proper sanitation around the mosques and Eidgahs in consultation with local committees. The Health Department was directed to keep ambulances available along with medical and para-medical staff at all religious places where main congregations are to be held on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Naresh Singh; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pawan Kotwal; PO ICDS, Dr. Rishi Sharma; CEO KDA Kesar Bhawani; Addl SP Pardeep Singh; ACR Idrees Lone, besides concerned district officers, President Majlis Shoura and representatives of Auqaf.
