Beerwah, Sept 28 (JKNS): Macadamisation work on a link road connecting Beerwah through Degree College Beerwah towards surrounding villages has been welcomed by local residents, who expressed gratitude to MLA Beerwah Dr Shafi Ahmad Wani and the Roads & Buildings (R&B) Department for taking up the long-pending road development work.
The residents said the macadamisation of the link road has been carried out for the first time, bringing relief and satisfaction among the people living in the area. They said the improved road surface would make daily commuting more convenient and provide better connectivity between Beerwah, Degree College Beerwah and the adjoining villages.
According to the residents, the road serves as an important local connectivity route used by students, employees, shopkeepers, farmers and other commuters on a regular basis. They said the completion of macadamisation work would help improve travelling conditions, particularly during adverse weather, when damaged and uneven road surfaces often create difficulties for commuters.
The locals appreciated the efforts of AEE Beerwah Shabir Ahmad and the dedicated field staff and team of the R&B Division for overseeing the execution of the road work. They said the timely intervention of the concerned authorities has addressed a long-standing demand of the residents.
Residents also expressed appreciation for the work carried out by Al Mehraj Construction, stating that good-quality material has been used during the macadamisation process. They said the quality of material and execution has raised expectations that the newly improved road surface will remain durable and provide safer and smoother movement for commuters.
The residents conveyed their gratitude to MLA Beerwah Dr Shafi Ahmad Wani, the R&B Department, AEE Beerwah Shabir Ahmad, field staff and the construction agency for addressing their long-pending demand and undertaking the development work.
They said improved road connectivity is important for the socio-economic development of rural and semi-urban areas, as better roads facilitate access to educational institutions, healthcare facilities, markets and other essential services.
The residents expressed hope that similar road development and macadamisation works would be undertaken in other areas where roads require improvement. They said continued attention towards local infrastructure would benefit residents and further strengthen connectivity between Beerwah and its surrounding villages.
The locals reiterated their appreciation to all concerned for taking up the work and expressed hope that the road would be properly maintained in the future to ensure its long-term benefit to the public.
