Srinagar, Sept 25 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has sanctioned six free domestic LPG refills per family per year for households covered under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) category.
As per Government Order No. 83-JK(FCS&CA) of 2026, dated September 24, 2026, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS stated that, the scheme, titled “The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Ministers Free LPG Scheme,” has been approved pursuant to Council of Ministers Decision No. 123/11/2026 dated September 10, 2026.
Under the scheme, all eligible AAY households will receive six free domestic LPG refills annually, in addition to any other benefits admissible under schemes of the Government of India.
The scheme will be restricted exclusively to eligible AAY households, as verified through the AePDS database of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, J&K.
The Government order states that appropriate safeguards will be put in place to prevent duplication or claims by ineligible beneficiaries.
The scheme will remain applicable for a period of four years, while detailed modalities for its implementation will be issued separately after due vetting and approval by the competent authority.
