Bandipora, September 24: EJAC Chief Spokesperson Mir Bashir Ahmad, while addressing a press conference, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Jammu and Kashmir Government for passing the resolution concerning the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) in the Legislative Assembly.
Mir Bashir Ahmad described the passage of the resolution as a welcome and encouraging development, particularly at a time when the issue of TET has emerged as a significant concern among teachers across the country.
He said that the leadership of the Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum had already taken up the matter with National Conference leadership and J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who had assured them that the issue would be taken up in the Legislative Assembly and that a resolution would be passed.
“Today, it is a matter of great satisfaction that the assurance given to the teaching community has been fulfilled through the passage of the resolution in the Assembly,” Ahmad said.
He expressed his sincere gratitude to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for supporting the issue and acknowledging the concerns of the teaching fraternity.
Mir Bashir Ahmad also conveyed his thanks to Education Minister Sakina Itoo for her role in addressing the concerns related to TET and supporting the resolution in the Assembly.
He further appreciated the leadership of the Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum and other representatives and leaders of the teaching community for consistently raising the issue and working towards finding a solution.
The EJAC Chief Spokesperson said that the collective efforts of the government, teachers’ organisations and representatives of the teaching community were important in bringing the issue to the forefront and ensuring that it received due attention in the Legislative Assembly.
