Srinagar, August 26: The Week of Unity (Hafta-e-Wahdat) celebrations commenced across the Kashmir Valley on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) under the auspices of Jammu & Kashmir Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian.
The celebrations began, as per tradition, from Khanqah Mir Shams-ud-Din Araqi (RA), Zadibal, Srinagar, where a grand Milad procession was taken out under the leadership of Anjuman President Hujjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimeen Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safavi.
The procession passed through Alamgari Bazaar and Mirza Kamil Chowk, Hawal, before culminating at Imambara Gulshan Bagh, Botakadal. A large number of students of Hawzas-e-Ilmiyya, students of religious maktabs, members and workers of the organisation, as well as a large gathering of devotees participated in the procession.
Prior to the procession, a dignified Milad gathering was held at Khanqah Mir Shams-ud-Din Araqi (RA), where Aga Syed Hassan addressed the gathering on the significance and virtues of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) and highlighted various dimensions of the exemplary life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Aga Syed Hassan said that love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is not merely a verbal claim; rather, true love is demonstrated by adherence to Islam, the Shariah and the Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). He stressed that unless a Muslim strives to mould his or her life in accordance with the exemplary conduct of the Prophet (PBUH), the claim of love remains incomplete.
Extending greetings to the Muslim Ummah on the auspicious occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), Aga Syed Hassan said that the blessed month conveys a message of following the Qur’an and Sunnah, promoting brotherhood and unity among Muslims, and standing united against anti-Islamic and hegemonic conspiracies. He further said that the source of the strength and dignity of Muslims lies in their love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH), and that attempts to weaken this bond of devotion have historically remained among the objectives of the enemies of Islam.
Addressing the Milad procession, General Secretary of Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian, Hujjat-ul-Islam Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas Mosavi Al-Safavi, said that in the contemporary era, the most effective response to conspiracies and hostile designs against Islam lies in Muslim unity, solidarity and genuine adherence to the Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
He called upon Muslims to rise above their differences, strengthen their collective ranks and raise a united voice against oppression and injustice. Referring to the teachings of Imam Khomeini (RA) and the steadfastness of the martyred Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei (RA), he described unity, self-respect and steadfast resistance as essential principles for the Muslim Ummah.
Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas said that if Muslims make the Seerah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) an integral part of their individual and collective lives and preserve unity and solidarity, no enemy can weaken, subjugate or defeat them.
Among the other scholars who addressed the Milad gathering were Hujjat-ul-Islam Syed Yusuf Mosavi and Hujjat-ul-Islam Syed Arshad Hussain Mosavi.
The gathering was also attended by Hujjat-ul-Islam Syed Muhammad Hussain Mosavi, Hujjat-ul-Islam Syed Muhammad Safavi, Hujjat-ul-Islam Maulvi Nisar Hussain Walu, Hujjat-ul-Islam Ghulam Muhammad Gulzar, Hujjat-ul-Islam Mehboob-ul-Hassan, Hujjat-ul-Islam Syed Musa, Hujjat-ul-Islam Syed Muhammad Hussain Suthsoo, Hujjat-ul-Islam Gohar Hussain, Hujjat-ul-Islam Imtiaz Hussain Najjar, Hujjat-ul-Islam Tanveer Hussain, Maulvi Bashir Ahmad Zadoo, besides other religious scholars and dignitaries.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Maulvi Dr. Ejaz Hussain Malik.
At the conclusion of the programme, Hujjat-ul-Islam Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas Mosavi Al-Safavi expressed heartfelt gratitude to the students of Hawzas-e-Ilmiyya, students of religious maktabs, organisational workers and the large number of devotees for their dignified, disciplined and orderly participation in the procession.
He said that the peaceful and disciplined participation of the people in the Milad procession was itself a reflection of the practical message of the Seerah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), which calls for unity, discipline, brotherhood and devotion to the cause of Islam.
