New Delhi, Aug 22 (JKNS): Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, on Saturday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and briefed him on the overall situation and key developments in Jammu & Kashmir.
Details available with news agency JKNS stated that during the meeting, the Lieutenant Governor apprised the Prime Minister about the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir (NMJK) campaign and its progress across the Union Territory.
LG Manoj Sinha also presented the Prime Minister with a coffee-table book prepared by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), J&K, showcasing the achievements and key initiatives undertaken during the 100-day NMJK campaign.
The meeting also covered matters concerning the development and welfare of Jammu & Kashmir, with the Lieutenant Governor briefing the Prime Minister on various ongoing initiatives and efforts being undertaken by the administration.
The interaction assumes significance as the administration continues to intensify its efforts against substance abuse and promote greater community participation in building a healthier and drug-free Jammu & Kashmir.
The Prime Minister was also apprised of the progress made through the campaign and the initiatives aimed at strengthening awareness, prevention and rehabilitation efforts across the Union Territory.
The meeting was held as part of the ongoing engagement between the J&K administration and the Union Government on issues concerning the development, security and welfare of the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
