Shopian, Aug 18 (JKNS): A woman died while her son sustained injuries after the scooty they were travelling on skidded off the road in the Amerbugh area of Imam Sahib in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday, officials said.
An official told news agency JKNS that the woman was travelling as a pillion rider on the scooty being driven by her son when the vehicle skidded off the road at Amerbugh.
He said the woman sustained critical injuries in the accident and died on the spot, while her son suffered minor injuries.
The deceased was identified as Saja Banoo, wife of Ghulam Qadir Naikoo, a resident of Kharwara, while her injured son was identified as Shakeel Ahmad Naikoo, son of Ghulam Qadir Naikoo.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident. (JKNS)
