Bandipora, Aug 15 (JKNS): Along with the rest of the country, Bandipora district celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.
The main district-level celebration was held at Government Higher Secondary School, Nadihal, where Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, unfurled the National Flag and took the salute at the ceremonial parade.
The event was attended by SSP Bandipora Ajaz Zargar, MLA Bandipora Nizamuddin Bhat, public representatives, senior district officers, schoolchildren and a large number of local residents.
Addressing the gathering, DC Indu Kanwal Chib highlighted various developmental projects and achievements of Bandipora district.
She also outlined the administration’s efforts towards strengthening development, improving public services and promoting the overall welfare of the people.
The celebrations also witnessed patriotic and colourful cultural programmes presented by schoolchildren, adding enthusiasm and vibrancy to the Independence Day celebrations. (JKNS)
