Srinagar, Aug 14 (JKNS): Para-cricketer Aamir Hussain Lone from Waghama village in Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district has been invited to the President of India’s ‘At Home’ reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on the eve of Independence Day.
Lone as per news agency JKNS, described the invitation as a matter of great fortune and expressed gratitude to the President of India for the honour.
Speaking about the invitation, Lone said he would travel to New Delhi on August 14 and attend the reception as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
The recognition has also brought celebrations in his native village, with residents, relatives and well-wishers congratulating him on the honour.
Lone said the invitation has given him fresh motivation and expressed hope that recognition of his journey would inspire other young people from Kashmir to pursue their talent and represent the region at the national level.
“Kashmir has a lot of talent. We should be encouraged so that other children also get such motivation and show their talent across the country,” Lone said.
Lone’s journey from Waghama in Anantnag to Rashtrapati Bhavan has emerged as an inspiring example of determination and perseverance, particularly for aspiring sportspersons and young people facing challenges.
