New Delhi/Srinagar, Aug 14 (JKNS): As part of the Independence Day 2026 honours, a total of 21 officers and officials of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and 51 personnel of the Jammu and Kashmir Police have been selected for prestigious police service medals, recognising distinguished service, meritorious performance and acts of exceptional courage.
According to the official lists Information Section on August 14, separate copies of which lies with news agency JKNS, six CBI officers and officials have been selected for the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM), while 15 personnel have been awarded the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM).
Six CBI Personnel Receive President’s Medal for Distinguished Service
The six CBI officers and officials selected for the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service are, Shobha Dutta, Assistant Inspector General of Police/Superintendent of Police, CBI, Complaint & Coordination Cell, New Delhi.
Manoj Banerjee, Additional Superintendent of Police, CBI, BSFB, Kolkata.
Ginni Rana, Additional Superintendent of Police, CBI Academy, Ghaziabad.
Sanjay Kumar Sama, Deputy Superintendent of Police, CBI, ACB, Visakhapatnam.
Ramesh Chand, Assistant Sub-Inspector, CBI Head Office, New Delhi.
Madan Lal Dhan, Assistant Sub-Inspector, CBI IPCU, New Delhi.
15 CBI Personnel Honoured for Meritorious Service
The Medal for Meritorious Service has been awarded to 15 CBI officers and officials, including personnel serving in different branches and locations across the country.
The awardees are Brijesh Singh, Deputy Legal Adviser, CBI ACB Lucknow; Girish Joshi, Senior System Analyst, CBI TAFSU Mumbai; Manju Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, CBI ACB Delhi; Om Prakash Chandra, Deputy Superintendent of Police, CBI SCB Kolkata; Zahid Akhtar Ansari, Deputy Superintendent of Police, CBI ACB Ghaziabad; Ashish Anand, Deputy Superintendent of Police, CBI Complaint & Coordination Cell New Delhi; Sarita Yadav, Inspector, CBI ACI-II New Delhi; Roshan Kumar, Sub-Inspector, CBI SU New Delhi; Dilbar Singh Bisht, Assistant Sub-Inspector, CBI SCB-I New Delhi; Balkar Singh, Head Constable, CBI ACB Chandigarh; Govind Singh Bisht, Head Constable, CBI ACB Lucknow; Kamlesh Kumar Gurjar, Head Constable, CBI ACB Jaipur; Pal Pandian R., Constable, CBI ACB Madurai; Ajay Kumar Singh, Constable, CBI ACB Patna; and Kalyanaradgum Saminullah, Constable, CBI ACB Bangalore.
The CBI said photographs of all the awardees have been attached to the press release as Annexure-A.
The honours recognise the distinguished and meritorious service rendered by CBI personnel while discharging their official responsibilities.
38 J&K Police Personnel Receive Gallantry Medals
Meanwhile, 38 personnel of the Jammu and Kashmir Police have been selected for the Medal for Gallantry (GM) on the occasion of Independence Day 2026.
The official list includes personnel from various ranks, including Deputy Inspector General, Senior Superintendent of Police, Superintendent of Police, Inspector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Assistant Sub-Inspector, Head Constable, SgCT and Constable.
Among the J&K Police awardees, Rayeesh Ahmad Reshi, Head Constable, has been awarded the Gallantry Medal for the first time, while Sarfaraz Bashir, Deputy Superintendent of Police, has received the second bar to the Gallantry Medal.
Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan, SgCT, and Mohinder Singh, Assistant Sub-Inspector, have also been awarded the first bar to the Gallantry Medal.
