Uri, Aug 13 (JKNS): As part of the celebrations for the 80th Independence Day, Army Goodwill School (AGS), Uri, under the aegis of Kalapahar Brigade, organised Inter School Debate and Quiz Competitions from August 11 to 13, 2026.
The events brought together students from seven local schools of Uri Tehsil and aimed to foster patriotism, national integration, critical thinking and effective communication skills among young participants.
The competitions were conducted in two categories Middle and Senior levels. The debate competition gave students the chance to showcase their oratory talent, critical thinking and boosted their confidence at public speaking.
The quiz competition tested students’ knowledge across General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Science and Technology, Sports and Environment.
The concluding ceremony was held on August 13, where the Commander, Kalapahar Brigade, presented individual awards to winners in different categories and awards to the overall winning schools in recognition of their performance.
The initiative provided students with a platform to showcase their knowledge, confidence and communication skills while reinforcing the spirit of unity, patriotism and national integration. (JKNS)
