Srinagar, Aug 11 (JKNS): Cluster University of Srinagar (CUS) on Tuesday organised a Tiranga Rally at its main campus as part of the 80th Independence Day celebrations and the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, with the university fraternity participating enthusiastically to promote national unity, patriotism and responsible citizenship.

Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Mobin, led the rally which witnessed enthusiastic participation from senior university functionaries, Deans, faculty members, non-teaching staff and other members of the university fraternity.

Carrying the Tricolour, the participants marched through the campus raising patriotic slogans and spreading the message of national unity, solidarity and responsible citizenship.

The programme was coordinated by the NSS Cell of the University with administrative support from the Registrar’s office.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Mobin said the National Flag embodies the aspirations, sacrifices and achievements of the nation and remains a powerful symbol of unity and national pride.

He called upon the university fraternity to actively participate in the Independence Day celebrations and uphold the values of patriotism, harmony, fraternity and responsible citizenship.

Prof. Mobin appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the university community and said initiatives such as the Tiranga Rally help reinforce patriotic values while strengthening a sense of collective responsibility towards the nation.

Among those who participated in the rally were Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Syed Wilayat Hussain Rizvi, Controller of Examinations Prof. (Dr.) Khurshid Ahmad Mir, Dean Sciences Prof. (Dr.) Nighat Nasreen, Dean Humanities and Liberal Arts Prof. (Dr.) Tahira Syed, Dean Social Sciences and NSS Programme Coordinator Dr. Javaid Ahmad Bhat, besides other senior functionaries, faculty members and non-teaching staff.

The rally also sought to reinforce the message of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign by encouraging citizens to display the National Flag with pride and participate in Independence Day celebrations.

The programme concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to uphold the dignity of the National Flag and contribute towards the ideals of unity, peace, harmony and national development. (JKNS)
