Srinagar, Aug 11 (JKNS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir has suspended Er. Syed Showkat Gayoor Andrabi, District President, BJP Pulwama, from all organisational posts and responsibilities following an FIR alleging extortion against him.
The suspension order, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS stated, issued by BJP J&K State General Secretary and National Council Member Mohammad Anwar Khan, said disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against Andrabi on the suggestion of the party’s Disciplinary Committee Chairman Adv. Sunil Sethi and in consultation with BJP J&K President Sat Sharma and Mohammad Anwar Khan.
Pending finalisation of the disciplinary proceedings, Andrabi has been suspended from all organisational posts, including the post of District President, Pulwama, with immediate effect.
The party said the action reflects its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of discipline, integrity and morality in public life. (JKNS)
