Srinagar, July 31 (JKNS): Restoration work is underway on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) between Jakheni in Udhampur district and Gangroo, Banihal in Ramban district, while the highway continues to remain closed for all types of traffic, officials said on Friday.
According to the latest traffic update issued at 10:00 AM, repair and restoration work is in progress at affected stretches, and vehicular movement has not yet been restored.
Authorities have advised commuters not to undertake travel on NH-44 until the highway is declared safe and reopened for traffic.
The Traffic Police also urged the public not to pay heed to rumours and advised commuters to verify the highway status only through official Traffic Control Units (TCUs) or the official social media handles of J&K Traffic Police.
