ACB Summons 552 Fire & Emergency Services Selectees for Fresh Height Test in 2020 Recruitment Probe

Candidates Directed to Report on August 3 Across Seven Centres in J&K as Investigation into Alleged Recruitment Irregularities Continues

Srinagar, July 31 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has directed 552 candidates selected in the 2020 Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) recruitment to undergo fresh height measurement as part of its investigation into alleged irregularities in the selection process.

According to an official communication accessed by news agency JKNS, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Police Station ACB Central, Jammu, has asked the Director General, Fire and Emergency Services, to ensure that the selected candidates report for fresh height measurement on August 3 at 10:00 AM.

The exercise is being conducted in connection with FIR No. 01/2025 registered at Police Station ACB Central, Jammu, regarding the alleged recruitment irregularities.

As per the communication issued on July 30, candidates have been divided into seven groups and directed to report at designated venues across the Union Territory.

Among them, 130 candidates from Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal have been asked to report at District Police Lines (DPL) Srinagar, while 124 candidates from Baramulla, Bandipora and Kupwara will appear at DPL Baramulla.

Similarly, 93 candidates from Anantnag, Shopian, Pulwama and Kulgam have been directed to report at DPL Anantnag.

In the Jammu division, 82 candidates from Jammu, Kathua and Samba will report at DPL Jammu, 56 candidates from Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban at DPL Doda, 38 candidates from Rajouri and Poonch at DPL Rajouri, and 29 candidates from Udhampur and Reasi at DPL Udhampur.

The ACB has also requested all district Senior Superintendents of Police to inform the concerned candidates through their respective Police Control Rooms and ensure their presence at the designated venues on the scheduled date and time.

Assistant Directors of the Fire and Emergency Services Department have also been directed to facilitate the appearance of candidates from their respective jurisdictions.

The latest verification forms part of the ACB’s ongoing investigation into the 2020 F&ES recruitment, in which 690 candidates, including 592 Firemen and 98 Fireman Drivers, were originally selected under Order No. 823 of 2020 dated October 4, 2020.

The Bureau is investigating alleged irregularities in the recruitment process, and the fresh height measurement has been ordered as part of the ongoing probe. (JKNS)
