Budgam, July 30 (JKNS): Engineer Nazir Ahmad Yatoo has urged the government and elected representatives to prioritise road connectivity to Salam Naaka, a remote village in the Yousmarg area, saying residents continue to suffer due to the absence of a motorable road.

According to a statement issued to news agency JKNS, Yatoo said he personally visited the village and was shocked to witness the hardships faced by the people living in the far-flung area.

He said reaching the village itself was extremely difficult and required courage and determination, but it was necessary to meet the residents, listen to their grievances and understand the challenges they face in their daily lives.

“Basic road connectivity is not a luxury—it is a necessity. Without a proper road, people are deprived of timely access to education, healthcare, emergency services and economic opportunities,” Yatoo said.

He said Salam Naaka falls under the Charar-i-Sharief Assembly constituency and appealed to the concerned authorities and public representatives to immediately take up construction of a proper road to the village.

Yatoo said the residents of the neglected area deserve to live with dignity and have access to essential public services like any other part of Jammu and Kashmir. (JKNS)
