Srinagar, July 30 (JKNS): An unidentified body was recovered from a canal in the Baba Demb area of Srinagar on Thursday morning, following which police launched an investigation into the incident.
An official told news agency JKNS that the body was found wrapped in a large sack and placed inside a bathtub, floating in the canal.
Soon after receiving information about the incident, a police team rushed to the spot and recovered the body from the water.
“We are examining the body and ascertaining the facts. Further details will be shared after the preliminary investigation,” the official said.
Police have initiated legal proceedings and launched an investigation to establish the identity of the deceased and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. (JKNS)
