Anantnag, July 19 (JKNS): Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kokernag on Sunday visited the cloudburst-affected Bangidar area of Daksum to assess the ground situation following the recent weather-related incident.
As per news agency JKNS, the SDM was accompanied by the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP), personnel of the 164 Battalion CRPF, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Irrigation and Flood Control, besides officials from the Forest Department, Wildlife Department and Sheep Husbandry Department.
During the inspection, the officers reviewed the impact of the cloudburst and assessed the condition of the affected area.
Officials said that no loss of life or damage to property has been reported in the incident. They added that the water level has started receding and the overall situation is presently under control.
The SDM directed all concerned departments to remain on high alert and continue close monitoring of the area to ensure prompt response in case of any further weather-related developments.
The administration has also appealed to the public to remain cautious and strictly follow official advisories in view of the prevailing weather conditions across the region. (JKNS)
