Srinagar, July 7 (JKNS): Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam Farooqi on Tuesday extended full support to the Jammu and Kashmir Government in its efforts for the restoration of statehood, while urging the administration to honour the commitments made to the people and work sincerely towards fulfilling its public manifesto.
As per news agency JKNS, Grand Mufti Nasir, participated in the interactive session convened by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at SKICC, which brought together eminent members of civil society, intellectuals, religious leaders, and public representatives from across Jammu & Kashmir.
The Grand Mufti was the first participant invited to address the gathering. In his remarks, he welcomed the initiative of engaging with diverse sections of society and assured the Hon’ble Chief Minister, on behalf of the people of Jammu & Kashmir, of full support and cooperation in the collective endeavour for the restoration of Statehood. He emphasized that the restoration of Statehood reflects the democratic aspirations and constitutional dignity of the people of Jammu & Kashmir and deserves the united efforts of all stakeholders.
The Grand Mufti also expressed hope that the present government would remain steadfast in honouring the commitments it has made to the people. He urged the government to sincerely work towards fulfilling the promises and commitments outlined in its public manifesto, stating that delivering on these assurances would further strengthen public confidence in democratic institutions.
He further underscored that sustained dialogue, mutual respect, and inclusive governance are indispensable for strengthening public trust and ensuring lasting peace, progress, and prosperity in Jammu & Kashmir.
Er Danish Reshi, Advisor to the Grand Mufti of Jammu & Kashmir, also expressed his views and presented a number of constructive suggestions to the Hon’ble Chief Minister which had been Noted by HCM. (JKNS)
