Man Dies After Coming Under Snow Slide In North Kashmir’s Handwara

Pattan, July 5 (JKNS): A non-local man who allegedly set himself ablaze in Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district succumbed to his burn injuries on Sunday, officials said.

An official told news agency JKNS that the deceased has been identified as 40-year-old, Khaliq Ansari, son of Akhtar Ansari, a resident of Bihar, who was presently living in rented accommodation at Kongamdara, Pattan.

Ansari was initially shifted to Sub-District Hospital Magam and later referred to JVC Bemina before being shifted to SKIMS Soura for specialised treatment after sustaining nearly 45 per cent burn injuries.

 

During the course of treatment at SKIMS Soura, he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday morning, official said.

 

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated legal proceedings to ascertain the circumstances that led to the incident. (JKNS)
