18-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed After Crashing Into Electric Pole in Budgam

Srinagar, July 3 (JKNS): An 18-year-old youth was killed in a road accident after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into an electric pole in the Wathoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday, officials said.

Officials told the news agency JKNS that, the deceased has been identified as Aasif Hilal Rather (18), son of Hilal Ahmad Rather, a resident of Wapalpora, Kralapora, Budgam.

The youth was riding a Pulsar motorcycle and allegedly lost control while attempting to overtake another vehicle, resulting in the motorcycle ramming into an electric pole.

He sustained critical injuries in the accident and was immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital Chadoora, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated legal proceedings to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the accident. Further investigation is underway. (JKNS)
