Govt Authorises Only Divisional Commissioners, IGPs to Brief Media on Amarnath Yatra 2026

Srinagar, June 30 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday authorised only the Divisional Commissioners and Inspectors General of Police (IGPs) of Jammu and Kashmir divisions to interact with the media and issue official briefings regarding the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026.

According to a circular issued by the Tourism Department, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, the decision has been taken to ensure dissemination of authentic and verified information related to the annual pilgrimage.

As per the circular, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and IGP Kashmir have been authorised to conduct media briefings for the Kashmir Division, while Divisional Commissioner Jammu and IGP Jammu will brief the media for the Jammu Division.

The government has further directed the authorised officers to maintain close coordination with the Information Department, Jammu and Kashmir, and the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB) while issuing official information related to the Yatra. (JKNS)
