Srinagar, Jun 25 (JKNS): Srinagar Traffic Police on Thursday issued a detailed traffic advisory for Youm-i-Ashoora (10th Muharram) to be observed on June 26, announcing traffic diversions and restrictions around Zadibal and adjoining areas to facilitate the smooth conduct of the main Zuljinah procession.

According to the advisory issued by SSP Traffic City Srinagar Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS reads that, the main procession will proceed from Bota Kadal to Imambara Zadibal, affecting vehicular movement in Zadibal and surrounding localities.

Traffic Police said vehicles heading towards Zadibal from different directions will be diverted at Firdous Cinema, Mill Stop, Lal Bazar and Bota Kadal.

Motorists intending to travel towards Hawal Road have been advised to take a right turn at Firdous Cinema towards Ali Masjid via Sazgaripora.

Similarly, vehicles coming from Karan Nagar and Nallamar towards Soura will have to use Ali Jan Road, while no right turn towards Sazgaripora will be allowed at Ali Masjid.

Traffic coming from Kalai Andhar will not be permitted towards Zadibal from Firdous Cinema and will instead be diverted towards Sazgaripora or Nowhatta.

The advisory further states that motorists coming from Soura will not be allowed towards Zadibal beyond Nallabal and have been advised to use the Zoonimar or Awantibhawan Road routes.

Vehicles approaching from Lal Bazar will also not be allowed to move towards Bota Kadal and shall instead use Mallabagh or interior roads to reach Soura and onward destinations.

Traffic Police urged the general public to avoid unnecessary movement towards areas where Youm-i-Ashoora processions are being taken out to prevent inconvenience and ensure smooth traffic regulation.

The advisory has been issued as part of arrangements for the peaceful observance of Youm-i-Ashoora across Srinagar. (JKNS)
