J&K Govt Appoints Haris Ahmad Handoo as Nodal Officer for Muharram-2026 Arrangements

Srinagar, Jun 24 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Wednesday appointed Haris Ahmad Handoo, JKAS, Special Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, as the Nodal Officer for coordination and monitoring of arrangements during Muharram-2026 across the Union Territory.

According to Government Order No. 1115-JK(GAD) of 2026 dated June 24, issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, Handoo will oversee inter-departmental coordination and maintain close liaison with all concerned departments, district administrations and other agencies involved in making arrangements for Muharram.

The order, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, states that the Nodal Officer shall monitor the status of arrangements and facilitate timely resolution of issues requiring coordination among various stakeholders.

The government said the appointment has been made to ensure smooth coordination and effective monitoring of Muharram-related arrangements across Jammu and Kashmir. (JKNS)
