Pakistani National Repatriated Through LoC Crossing Point in Kupwara: Army

Srinagar, Jun 19 (JKNS): The Indian Army on Friday said a Pakistani national, who had crossed the Line of Control (LoC) into Jammu and Kashmir earlier this month and was apprehended in Kupwara district, has been repatriated to Pakistan after the completion of necessary procedures.

According to a post shared by the Chinar Corps on X, the Pakistani national, a resident of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), was apprehended in Simari village of Kupwara on June 12, 2026, after crossing the LoC.

The Army said he was repatriated to Pakistan on June 18, 2026, through the established mechanism after all required formalities were completed.

During his stay in India, the individual was treated with dignity and compassion, reflecting the Indian Army’s commitment to humanitarian values and professional conduct, the post stated.

The Army further said that the safe repatriation underscores its ethos, sense of responsibility and adherence to the highest standards of military professionalism while dealing with such cases. (JKNS)
