Baramulla, Jun 18 (JKNS): In a colourful display of India’s cultural diversity and national unity, the North Kashmir Cultural Festival-2026, Shaam-e-Shafqat, was held at Zorawar Hall in Pattan on Thursday, bringing together renowned artists from across the country and drawing enthusiastic participation from students and members of civil society.

As per news agency JKNS, Jointly organised by the North Zone Cultural Centre, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and the Indian Army, the *Cultural Festival served as a tribute to national unity, artistic tradition, and the enduring spirit of the Indian people.

The cultural festival witnessed renowned artists from Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Manipur & Odisha giving mesmerizing performances that captured the depth and diversity of India’s folk traditions.

Throughout the day, the audience was treated to a kaleidoscope of folk dances, traditional music, and cultural expressions from across the nation, each performance highlighting the richness and regional uniqueness of India’s heritage. Soulful renditions of traditional songs further elevated the experience, symbolizing India’s unity in diversity and its mystic cultural identity.

The energetic performances and cultural splendour fostered a celebratory atmosphere and evoked patriotic pride amongst the audience. More than just an entertainment spectacle, the Cultural Festival served a broader purpose to preserve, promote, and popularize India’s cultural legacy, while strengthening the connect of the younger generation of North Kashmir with other cultures of India. It stood as a powerful reminder of the cultural heritage, unity in diversity and national pride that marks the uniqueness of India.

The event was attended by *students and members of the civil society from North Kashmir.

The unending applause of the audience conveyed their appreciation and reaffirmed the festival’s role as a meaningful step towards cultural integration and national unity. (JKNS)
