RLD to Participate in Upcoming Urban Local Body Elections: Trilok Tyagi

Srinagar, Jun 12 (JKNS): Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) National General Secretary (Organisation), Trilok Tyagi, today addressed a press conference in Srinagar and reiterated the party’s commitment towards skill development, promotion of small-scale industries, women’s empowerment, and employment generation across Jammu & Kashmir and the country.

Speaking to media persons, Tyagi emphasized that empowering youth through skill development programmes and creating sustainable employment opportunities remain among the foremost priorities of the Rashtriya Lok Dal. He stated that strengthening Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is essential for economic growth, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance.

Highlighting the importance of women’s participation in nation-building, he said that RLD strongly advocates policies and programmes aimed at enhancing women’s social, economic, and political empowerment. He stressed the need to create greater opportunities for women entrepreneurs and ensure their meaningful participation in decision-making processes.

Tyagi further stated that the party remains committed to addressing the concerns of traders, workers, farmers, youth, and other sections of society through constructive policies and active grassroots engagement.

Vinay Pradhan incharge J&K announced the party’s decision regarding the forthcoming Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections, said that the Rashtriya Lok Dal will actively participate in the electoral process and work towards strengthening democratic institutions at the grassroots level. He said the party would field capable, dedicated, and people-oriented candidates committed to addressing local issues and serving the public effectively.

“The development of local bodies, employment generation, support for small businesses, and empowerment of women and youth are essential pillars for building a prosperous and inclusive society,” Tyagi remarked.

He called upon party workers to strengthen public outreach and engage closely with people at the grassroots level to understand their concerns and aspirations.

The press conference was attended by Vinay Pradhan, In-Charge Jammu & Kashmir; Dr. Zahoor, President RLD Jammu & Kashmir; Mohammad Altaf Dar, General Secretary and Spokesperson RLD Jammu & Kashmir;Mohd Safheel Sophian besides senior party leaders, office bearers, workers, and supporters. The participants reiterated their commitment to strengthening the organization and working for the welfare and development of the people of Jammu & Kashmir. (JKNS)
