Jammu, Jun 12 (JKNS): Two Army personnel were injured in an accidental grenade explosion during a training exercise in a forward area along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, officials said.

Official sources told news agency JKNS that the accidental grenade blast occurred on Friday in a forward location near the LoC while troops were engaged in a training exercise.

In the incident, two Army soldiers sustained injuries and were immediately evacuated to the 425 Army Field Hospital in Poonch for medical treatment, they said.

The condition of the injured personnel was not immediately known.

Authorities have taken note of the incident and necessary procedures are being followed, officials added. (JKNS)
