Srinagar, Jun 10 (JKNS): With the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra approaching, Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) G.P. Singh undertook a comprehensive review of security and operational preparedness across key locations in Kashmir, emphasizing seamless inter-agency coordination and robust security arrangements to ensure a safe, smooth and incident-free pilgrimage.

As per news agency JKNS, DG CRPF G.P. Singh who is on a three-day visit to the Kashmir Valley, reviewed the operational preparedness of the force in view of the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.

During the visit, the DG CRPF assessed the security and logistical arrangements along the Yatra route up to the Baltal base camp. He stressed the importance of maintaining a robust security grid through close coordination among all stakeholders involved in the pilgrimage.

G.P. Singh also chaired a high-level meeting with senior officers of the CRPF, Civil Administration, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and other security forces associated with the Yatra. He emphasized the need to further strengthen inter-agency coordination to ensure the safe, smooth and incident-free conduct of the annual pilgrimage.

At the Baltal base camp, the DG was briefed on the existing security grid, access control mechanisms and logistical preparedness. He reviewed measures being put in place to ensure foolproof security arrangements and seamless coordination among all agencies.

As part of his visit, G.P. Singh conducted a comprehensive inspection of the **118 Battalion CRPF Headquarters at Gund**. Demonstrating the leadership’s commitment to operational readiness and troop welfare, the DG also stayed overnight at the battalion headquarters.

During the inspection, he reviewed the infrastructure and ongoing developmental works at the camp. Senior officers briefed him on the prevailing security scenario and strategic operational activities being undertaken within the battalion’s area of responsibility.

The DG also interacted with officers and jawans, appreciating their dedication and commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region.

He was accompanied by Vitul Kumar, Special Director General (Operations), CRPF; Rajesh Kumar, Additional Director General, J&K Zone CRPF; Vineet Brij Lal, Inspector General, Kashmir Operations Sector CRPF; Sonal V. Mishra, Inspector General, Provisioning Directorate CRPF; Pawan Kumar Sharma, Inspector General, Srinagar Sector CRPF; and other senior officers. (JKNS)
