Two Injured as Tree Uprooted by Strong Winds Falls in Anantnag

Anantnag, Jun 2 (JKNS): Two persons were injured after a tree was uprooted by strong winds and fell in the Ganjiwara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday, officials said.

Reports reaching news agency JKNS that the popular roadside tree collapsed near Ganjiwara amid strong gusty winds, disrupting vehicular movement on the road connecting the market area with Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag.

They said two civilians, reportedly residents of Shangus, sustained injuries in the incident and were shifted to GMC Anantnag for treatment.

Following the incident, police and other concerned agencies rushed to the spot and launched clearance operations. One side of the road has been reopened for traffic while efforts are underway to completely restore normal movement.

Further details regarding the condition of the injured persons are awaited. (JKNS)
